9th Muharram: Cellular and internet services suspended in various cities

QUETTA: As the 9th and 10th Muharramul-Haram approaches, mobile phone and internet services have been suspended in various cities across the country.

The cellular and internet services have been suspended in Quetta, Sukkur, Dadu, Jacobabad, and other cities.

These services will be suspended till 08 pm for the safety of the public during the processions and religious gatherings. Extensive security arrangements have been put in place to prevent any untoward incidents.

As part of the Ashura security strategy, a mobile control center has been established for the first time in Islamabad, in accordance with instructions from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The control room may operate without relying on mobile networks, guaranteeing continuous coordination and monitoring.

The 9th of Muharram observed to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, is being marked with due solemnity and respect nationwide today.
