ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Mahmood Achakzai, has said that Imran Khan’s health is not as bad as the impression is being given in this regard. He said that he can say this responsibly and with conviction.

Talking to the media after a joint meeting of the Political Committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad, Mahmood Achakzai said that along with the announcement of the protest, rumors about the PTI founder’s illness were spread. According to him, the aim was to create confusion in the minds of the workers.

He said that his party has no personal enmity with anyone, however, the real problem is that an attempt is being made to divert the political struggle from its main objective.

Mahmood Achakzai said that his demand is clear and he wants an independent Election Commission and transparent general elections in the country. According to him, the restoration of the democratic process is the solution to the current problems.

The opposition leader urged the state institutions to work within the constitutional limits. He said that the improvement and reconstruction of Pakistan is possible only through the supremacy of the Constitution.

This statement comes at a time when various claims regarding Imran Khan’s health are being discussed in political and social media circles.
