LAHORE: Nadia Jamil, who works as an actor in Pakistan, requested that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz take effective measures to stop animal abuse because Jamil considers this issue to require equal importance as child protection.

Jamil and actress Uzma Hassan wrote a letter in which they showed that animal abuse creates more violent behavior in society while teaching children to view cruelty as ordinary behavior.

She called on everyone to spread the message by tagging @maryamnawazofficial because this would help increase support for the petition.

The document showed that Pakistan must follow the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child when it requires the protection of children from all forms of psychological damage, which includes their exposure to animal cruelty.

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child 2023 report connected environmental and animal welfare matters with child protection rights, according to the document.

People who abuse animals show signs of psychological problems, which make them likely to commit domestic violence, according to Jamil. The letter documented how Pakistan now experiences increased animal abuse, which affects both wild and exotic species that experience major psychological suffering.

The appeal concluded by expressing confidence in the Chief Minister’s commitment to a safer and compassionate Punjab, stressing that protecting children and animals strengthens moral foundations for future generations.

The entertainment industry in Pakistan shows rising concern for animal welfare as actors Ushna Shah and Zhalay Sarhadi requested the Chief Minister to create stronger animal protection laws after they made their initial request.
