Airports shut down due to heavy rains across Pakistan

GILGIT BALTISTAN: Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, all the flights planned at Gilgit Airport today were canceled, while flight operations in the entire country were seriously delayed.

Four flights from Islamabad to Gilgit were canceled, according to the flight timetable. Besides that, 46 flights around the country were delayed for different reasons.

Out of the delayed flights, 11 were from Islamabad, 12 from Karachi, 11 from Lahore, 3 from Quetta, and one from Multan, Skardu, and Peshawar.

Even international flights were not spared. One of the flights of a private airline from Islamabad to Dubai was delayed for five hours. Likewise, two flights of a private airline from Lahore to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi were delayed between 4 to 10 hours. A flight of a foreign airline from Muscat to Karachi got delayed by four and a half hours.

As the torrential rains in Pakistan continue, the public is advised to pre-plan their journeys, avoid traveling long distances.
