MUZAFFARABAD: The former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has announced to part ways with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
According to details, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has sent his resignation to Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
During the last 3 days, the central leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Governor Punjab, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chaudhry Riaz and other leaders tried their best to convince Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, but these efforts were not successful.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan decided to separate from the PPP after differences over the distribution of party tickets for the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir.
He also applied to the Parliamentary Board for a party ticket from the Central Bagh, Pachiot and Neelum constituencies.
Meanwhile, government minister Ali Shan Soni has also resigned from the primary membership of the Pakistan Peoples Party and the ministry.
Tanveer Ilyas Khan will announce his future political strategy in the next 2 days.
Sources further said that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan will join the Isthekam Pakistan Party or contest the elections as an independent by leading a large group.
Meanwhile, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan’s spokesperson has also confirmed his resignation from the primary membership of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
