ISLAMABAD: Balochistan National Party leader Akhtar Mengal’s resignation from the National Assembly has been accepted after almost 17 months, according to media reports.
Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has accepted the resignation of BNP chief Akhtar Mengal. Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s resignation was accepted last night.
Reports also say that Sardar Akhtar Mengal was also utilizing all the privileges as a member of the National Assembly until January 2026.
It should be remembered that Akhtar Mengal had resigned from the membership of the National Assembly on September 3, 2024.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal was a member of the National Assembly from NA-256 Khuzdar-1 in February 2024, and after his resignation was accepted, this seat became vacant, for which a by-election may be held within the next 3 months.
