All stranded tourists in KP floods rescued

PESHAWAR: According to Director General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) Tashfeen Haider, in a successful rescue operation, tourists stranded due to floods in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been brought to safety.

Tourists stranded in the scenic Kumrat Valley were safely transported to Batgoi via Kalam with the assistance of the tourism police and local administration. Additionally, those who had travelled to Kumrat using their own transport were provided with free accommodation.

In another part of the province, tourists who were stuck at Mahandri Bridge in Naran were also successfully rescued and brought back to safety.

Tashfeen Haider noted that a weather advisory had been issued to tourists five days prior, warning them of potential risks due to the severe weather conditions.

The Director General also announced that the Peshawar to Saif-ul-Maluk Lake chairlift would resume operations soon, ensuring that tourists can safely enjoy one of the region’s most popular attractions.
