KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has implemented new guidelines to address passenger complaints related to passenger name record (PNR)-related boarding issues, here on Sunday.
In a recent guideline, CAA has decided that no passenger shall be denied boarding due to discrepancy in PNR at the time of booking of ticket and travel.
The CAA took this decision following several complaints from passengers who were denied boarding because their PNR details were different between booking and journey.
The CAA has directed all airlines to ensure that passengers are not denied boarding on the basis of PNR discrepancies.
As per CAA guidelines, airlines are now required to strictly follow this directive. The CAA has also mandated that airlines update their PNR policies on their websites, to ensure transparency and prevent future inconvenience to passengers.
Additionally, travel agents have been directed to comply with these policies during the booking process, thereby reducing the chances of passengers facing problems at the time of boarding.
