Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh reaffirms commitment to strengthening Pakistan-US relations

Washington, D.C. (By Rizwan Abbasi) – Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has reaffirmed his commitment to further solidifying the relationship between Pakistan and the United States, emphasizing the importance of collaboration at all levels to expand bilateral cooperation.

Speaking at a reception organized by the Pakistani American Press Association (PAPA) in Washington, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the need for collective efforts to enhance the multifaceted ties between the two nations.

‏“Strengthening every aspect of U.S.-Pakistan relations requires us to work together. The Pakistan Embassy is fully committed to taking all necessary steps to achieve this goal, which remains one of our top priorities,” stated the Ambassador. He further emphasized the pivotal role the Pakistani American community plays, particularly in fields such as IT and Artificial Intelligence, stating that the younger generation of the diaspora holds the key to Pakistan’s future progress.

‏Ambassador Sheikh underscored the Embassy’s dedication to fostering stronger ties through teamwork with the Pakistani American community, aiming to bring greater cooperation between the two nations. He expressed optimism about the future, noting that a robust relationship between Pakistan and the U.S. is crucial for global peace, stability, and development.

‏The event, hosted in honour of the newly appointed Ambassador, was attended by prominent community leaders and officials. Khurram Shehzad, President of PAPA, and Yousaf Chaudhry, General Secretary, commended the organization’s efforts in bringing together the Pakistani American community. Since its inception in 2017, PAPA has grown into a powerful platform for over 100 members across the U.S., offering a non-political and non-religious forum that promotes unity and cultural exchange.

‏Keynote speakers, including Waleed Hashmi from the U.S. State Department, former Ambassador Akbar Ahmed, and renowned community leader Sajid Tarar, applauded PAPA for creating a platform that unites Pakistanis abroad and hosts dignitaries from Pakistan with great distinction. During the event, Waleed Hashmi, Fouzia Kasuri, Akbar Ahmed, and Sajid Tarar were presented with appreciation shields for their outstanding services to the community. Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh was also honoured with a special award, recognizing his contributions to strengthening ties between the U.S. and Pakistan.

‏The reception was hailed as a significant step toward deepening diplomatic relations between the two nations and fostering greater unity within the Pakistani American community.
