ISLAMABAD: Amna Baloch, presently posted as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxemburg, and the European Union, has been appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A notification by the Establishment Division stated that Amna Baloch, a Grade-22 officer of the Foreign Service of Pakistan will take charge of her office on September 11, 2024.
The incumbent Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi is retiring on September 10. Syrus Sajjad has been appointed as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).
Khaliq-ur-Rahman, a Grade-20 officer of the Secretariat Group, has been appointed as Joint Secretary Ministry of Industry and Production.
Born in 1966, Baloch joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1991. She served as an Additional Secretary in the Foreign Office from September 2018 to June 2019.
Baloch also assumed charge of the post of High Commissioner of Pakistan to Malaysia on 19 August 2019.
