NAROWAL: Another Pakistan Rangers Punjab officer, Lance Naik Muhammad Tanveer, succumbed to his injuries sustained during the violent protests on November 25 and 26.
The 37-year-old resident of Narowal district had slipped into a coma after sustaining serious injuries during the unrest.
Lance Naik Tanveer, who served the nation for 17 years, is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters. His martyrdom brings the total number of Rangers personnel killed in the protests, along with two Punjab Police personnel, to four.
The violent protests allegedly led by PTI workers under the guise of protests resulted in considerable loss of life and property. Government properties were attacked and several places were set on fire, causing irreparable damage.
In addition to the fatalities, around 119 Punjab Police personnel and 11 Islamabad Police personnel were injured, many of them critically. Several videos have surfaced, showing the extent of vandalism and destruction during the protests.
Authorities have vowed to take strict legal action against those involved in the violence. Law enforcement agencies are actively working to identify and arrest perpetrators to ensure accountability.
