ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has denied that PTI founder Imran Khan has nominated him as the party chairman.

He also clarified that no decision has been taken on the post of secretary general. He said that a decision will be taken after consulting the party founder in Adiala Jail.

Earlier, there were reports that PTI founder Imran Khan had removed party chairman Gauhar Khan and secretary general Salman Akram Raja from their posts after the chaos during the PTI protest in Islamabad.

Salman Akram Raja resigned from the post of party secretary general.

Raja submitted his resignation to the party leadership. PTI chairman Barrister Gohar confirmed Salman Akram Raja’s resignation.

PTI founder Imran Khan had appointed senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja as the party’s secretary general in September.

Raja faced severe criticism for not playing an active role in the recent PTI protests.
