  • Subclass 189: A skilled independent visa for workers who an employer, a state, or family does not sponsor.
  • Subclass 190: Skilled Nominated Visa – This requires nomination by a state or territory government.

  • Invitation to Apply (ITA): Based on points score and occupation demand.
  • Prepare Documents: Gather recent certificates, skills assessment, and English test results.
  • Visa Application Submission: The applicant has to apply online through the Department of Home Affairs online portal by payment.
  • Health & Character Checks: Undergo medical tests and submit police clearance certificates.
  • Wait for Processing: Processing times depend on the subclass and occupation.
  • Receive Visa Decision: Department of Home Affairs informs about the decision.
  • Move to Australia: Travel and start working in your nominated occupation.
