BAJAUR: A 12-hour curfew has been imposed in the entire district of Bajaur from 11 am to 11 pm, according to the administration.
Security forces launched a targeted operation in parts of Mamund Tehsil after the local jirga and the banned outfit failed to reach an agreement.
A complete curfew has been imposed in 27 areas of Mamund from 11 am on August 11 until 11 am on August 14.
Resident of the areas have been directed to complete all their work by 10:30 am and avoid coming out of their homes intime of operations.
Authorities said that numerous people had been relocated from the impacted districts during the last few days.
To accommodate them, the district administration has evacuated 107 government institutions and colleges, and a relief camp of 450 tents has been put up at the Bajaur Sports Complex.
Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has enforced Section 144 for seven days in 13 districts as part of security plans for Imam Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum.
The limitations apply in Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Bannu, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Nowshera, Kurram, Mardan, and Lakki Marwat.
The orders prohibit motorcycle pillion riding, wall chalking, inflammatory statements, weapon displays, aerial firing, the use of loudspeakers, and fireworks.
Authorities have also restricted individuals from standing on roofs near the Chehlum procession routes, as well as Afghan nationals from gathering in public locations.
