ISLAMABAD: Shocking revelation surfaces in the Bahria Town case as Khalil Ur Rehman, Personal Staff Officer to Mr. Malik Riaz Hussain, the founder of Bahria Town, is actively involved in unlawful financial activities.

Khalil Ur Rehman’s unlawful financial activities include money laundering and the operation of Hawala and Hundi networks purportedly used by Bahria Town for illicit fund transfers.

Multiple FIRs have been registered against him, and he was arrested in connection with these criminal investigations.

Substantial documentary and testimonial evidence has emerged indicating that  Khalil Ur Rehman received funds amounting to billions of Pakistani rupees from Bahria Town accounts, without any lawful justification or legitimate business transactions.

Furthermore, it has been established that Khalil Ur Rehman was engaged in corrupt practices, including the payment of unlawful financial inducements/Kickbacks to various public officials, with the intent of securing undue benefits for Bahria Town.

Additionally, he is alleged to have orchestrated and facilitated a transnational Hawala and Hundi operation, through which large sums of illicit money were funnelled out of Pakistan to foreign jurisdictions, most notably the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Kingdom (UK).

These financial outflows are linked to the acquisition and development of numerous high-value properties abroad, which are believed to be directly or indirectly connected to Malik Riaz Hussain and other key stakeholders of Bahria Town.

The challan against the accused has been submitted to the court, and the next hearing of the case against the accused Khalil-ur-Rehman will be on September 5.

The court will distribute copies of the challan to the accused in the next hearing. After distributing copies of the challan, the court will fix a date for the indictment.
