Bahria Town’s illegal constructions demolished in Jamshoro

JAMSHORO: The illegal constructions of Bahria Town in Jamshoro were demolished on the night of September 20 and 21 after the Anti-Encroachment Tribunal declared the construction illegal.

During the operation, conducted on court orders, all illegal structures on the land, approximately measuring 893 acres in Jamshoro’s Deh Mole, were demolished.

Last week, the Anti-Encroachment Tribunal Hyderabad Judge Zulfiqar Ali Solangi dismissed a suit filed by Bahria Town Karachi (BTK) against the notice issued to it for dispossession from the afore-mentioned land.

In its petition, Bahria Town prayed the court to declare that the “land approximately 893 acres in Deh Mole in possession of plaintiff is private property and does not fall under the definition of public property.”

However, the court ruled against the plaintiff, stating that the land was, in fact, public property.

The order said that the plaintiff has failed to make out a case for declaratory relief, and the suit, therefore, stands dismissed along with all pending applications and the interim order passed on May 26.

A survey conducted under Supreme Court directives confirmed that 893 acres of land were in unauthorized possession of Bahria Town.

After the court orders, on the instructions of the revenue authorities, an anti-encroachment operation was launched on the land occupied by Bahria Town, demolishing all illegal constructions.
