Islamabad: Former Defence Minister and PML-N leader Khawaja Asif accused former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and ex-spymaster Faiz Hameed of exerting influence over legislative processes during their tenure.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament House, Asif stressed the importance of constructive dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders for addressing the country’s challenges and ensuring political stability.

Asif claimed that during his time in office, military figures, including Bajwa and Hameed, played a significant role in crafting legislation, particularly regarding the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

He criticized President Dr Arif Alvi’s reluctance to summon the National Assembly session, suggesting that he should be tried under Article 6 for violating the constitution.
