Balochistan government announces to digitalize birth, death registration

QUETTA: The Local government of Balochistan, the Health department, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to enhance working on the implementation of digital birth and death registration throughout Balochistan.

Local Government and Rural Development Secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch said on Tuesday that the government has decided to assimilate Bolan Medical Complex and Sandeman Provincial Hospital with the Nadra for the registration of birth and death certificates.

“The birth and death certificates have already been fully digitised in cooperation with Nadra,” Further measures are being implemented to enhance the registration process and improve the Civil Registration Management System across the province,” he said during a meeting.

Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman Panizai, Local Government Board Secretary Shujaat Hussain, Nadra Balochistan Director General Naveed Jan Sahibzada, assistant directors Faizullah Kakar and Rizwan Magsi, Balochistan Health Card Director Dr Ahmad Wali, and senior officials from the Health Department and Nadra attended the meeting.

The local government official stressed making the local government official at the union council level more effective to facilitate the public in obtaining birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates.
