Barrister Salman Safdar meets Imran Khan for three hours

RAWALPINDI: The meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar has ended, as the meeting with Imran Khan lasted for about 3 hours.

After the meeting, Barrister Salman Safdar left Adiala Jail and did not officially talk to the media; however, in a brief conversation, he said that Imran Khan’s health is fine.

He said that full access has been given to PTI founder Imran Khan, and he will not say anything until the report is submitted to the Supreme Court.

According to reports, Barrister Salman Safdar will present a detailed report of the meeting in the Supreme Court tomorrow.

It should be noted that earlier, the Supreme Court had allowed Barrister Salman Safdar to meet PTI founder Imran Khan during the hearing of the appeals filed against the trial of the Toshakhana criminal case and appointed him as a judicial representative.

A 2-member bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi heard the case. The court ordered that Salman Safdar should go to jail and submit a detailed written report regarding the condition of PTI founder Imran Khan and the facilities available to him.

The Chief Justice directed the Attorney General that Salman Safdar should not face any obstacles during the meeting. While talking to Salman Safdar, he said that if there is any problem, he can contact the court directly.

The court also sought a report from the Superintendent of Jail regarding the founder of PTI. The Chief Justice said that Salman Safdar should submit a report after the meeting tomorrow, we will see the report and hold a hearing the day after. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till February 12.
