GHALANAI: A car was badly damaged after it hit an improvised explosive device planted on the roadside in the Ambar tehsil of Mohmand tribal district on Tuesday. Local traders of chromite were on board the vehicle, but they remained unhurt, officials said.
They said the car ran over the IED in the Olai Shah area of Ambar.
Assistant Commissioner, Lower Mohmand, Qaiser Alam Khan confirmed the incident and said that the administration had launched investigation into it.
After the incident, the security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation in the adjoining areas. However, no one was arrested till filing of the report by Tuesday evening.
