ISLAMABAD: Bus terminals in the city have not been closed due to security concerns, clarified police sources. The authorities are only taking action against terminals that violate standard operating procedures (SOPs).

As per the Islamabad Police, strict measures are being enforced against terminals that fail to register passengers in the official police-provided software. Terminals that have not installed walk-through gates are being temporarily closed. Once the walk-through gates and a secure passage of 6 to 8 feet are fully implemented, the bus terminals will be reopened immediately.

Police further stated that terminals will be restored as soon as metal detectors and body-search procedures are operational. Bus terminal owners can reopen their facilities within an hour by ensuring full compliance with the SOPs, the police added.
