Rawalpindi: Former first lady Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has claimed that her food was spiked during her time at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.
Speaking to media representatives at the jail, Bushra Bibi stated that harmful substances were mixed in her honey upon her arrival at the prison. Despite this, she emphasized her faith in Allah and stated that she consumed the honey, believing that her fate is ultimately in divine hands.
Addressing remarks made by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, Bushra Bibi affirmed that her husband, the PTI founder, is in good physical and mental health despite being incarcerated. She highlighted that Imran Khan chose to sacrifice his personal comfort for the betterment of the nation, opting for a life of service rather than pursuing a more comfortable existence in his Bani Gala residence.
Bushra Bibi also defended Imran Khan’s tenure as prime minister, asserting that he never inflicted harm upon anyone during his time in office. Responding to a query, she urged the public not to support individuals involved in criminal activities.

Meanwhile, concerns about Bushra Bibi’s health have been raised by her sister, Maryam Riaz Wattoo, who revealed that Bushra Bibi has been unwell since consuming food provided at Adiala jail. According to Wattoo, Bushra Bibi has been unable to eat anything for the past six days, and her condition remains a cause for concern. Alleging that harmful food was intentionally provided to the former first lady, Wattoo emphasized that Bushra Bibi is not allowed to receive home-cooked meals while in custody.
