ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has given a major relief to former First Lady Bushra Bibi by extending her interim bail in 29 cases registered in the context of the November 26 protest until July 11.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court heard the bail application in all these cases.

During the hearing, Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Faisal Malik Advocate appeared before the court and gave arguments.

After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court granted the interim bail of the former First Lady and issued orders to extend it until July 11, while further hearing of all related cases was also adjourned until July 11.

It should be noted that Bushra Bibi had participated in the protest in Islamabad on November 26, 2024, along with the then Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and other leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. During the protest, there was a clash between PTI protesters and security forces, after which cases were registered against Bushra Bibi and other party leaders under anti-terrorism, sabotage and interference in the affairs of the government.

Ilmia Khan, sister of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is also named in the same cases, having filed a request to summon 21 prosecution witnesses in the special anti-terrorism court two weeks ago.

Bushra Bibi, who was granted an extension of interim bail in these cases, is serving a 7-year sentence in a 190 million pound corruption case. In December 2025, she was sentenced to 17 years in prison in the Toshakhana 2 case, which revolves around the purchase of a valuable jewelry set gifted to Imran Khan by the Saudi Crown Prince during a May 2021 visit.
