CDA to hire landscape experts to enhance Islamabad’s beauty

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) made a landmark decision to engage landscape professionals for the enhancement of the beauty of Islamabad. The decision was agreed upon during the CDA board’s third meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

Financial reforms, urban development, and important administrative matters discussed during the meeting were important subjects. To improve financial management, a director for finance at the CDA Hospital was approved to be recruited by the board, in addition to approving the creation of the SAP system to align CDA processes to those of the government of Pakistan.

The board also approved a running rate contract to provide nevertheless regular supplies of essential medical kits to the Health Services Wing.

Other topics discussed included asset management and revenue generation. Also, the lease for a petrol pump in sector F-6 was enhanced from PKR 292,000 per month to PKR 4.5 million, with a yearly increment of 10 percent.

The CDA chairman asked the officials to prepare a complete database of all assets under the Administration Wing for better oversight and planning purposes.

In a significant move, the board approved the hiring of a Managing Director and three directors for the Islamabad Water Agency, as well as the engagement of an urban developer and a carbon credit expert to fortify the environmental sustainability project.

The meeting reviewed a proposal to establish a carbon credit center at a nursery located on Park Road. The meeting also focused on the workers’ financial matters, with a decision being made to take steps against those officers and employees who had received house-building advances and had failed to repay them.

For other key approvals, hiring a transaction advisor for the Green Frontier Data Center was done, e-payment gateways were approved for the “My Islamabad” app, and consultancy services for the restoration of Parliament lodges and Government hostels were secured.
