Cement prices see slight increase in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Retail prices of cement in the country recorded a slight increase last week.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average price of cement per sack in northern cities in the week ending December 4 was Rs 1,379, which is 0.39 percent higher than the previous week.

Earlier, the average price was recorded at Rs 1,374. A slight increase was also seen in southern cities, where the average price per sack was Rs 1,441, which is 0.06 percent higher than the previous week. The average price last week was Rs 1,440.

According to the price details at the urban level, the price per sack was recorded at Rs 1367 in Islamabad, Rs 1361 in Rawalpindi, Rs 1400 in Gujranwala, Rs 1370 in Sialkot, Rs 1466 in Lahore, Rs 1370 in Faisalabad, Rs 1373 in Sargodha, Rs 1397 in Multan, Rs 1400 in Bahawalpur, Rs 1370 in Peshawar and Rs 1300 in Bannu.

Similarly, in the southern regions, the price per sack was Rs 1378 in Karachi, Rs 1428 in Hyderabad, Rs 1500 in Sukkur, Rs 1407 in Larkana, Rs 1490 in Quetta and Rs 14
