FAISALABAD: Like other cities of the country, chicken and egg prices continue to rise in Faisalabad.

According to the latest data, broiler chicken meat has now reached Rs 670 per kilogram, while the price of clean meat has crossed the record level of Rs 750 per kilogram.

The price of broiler farm has been fixed at Rs 383, Rs 397 in wholesale and Rs 411 in the retail market.

Along with meat prices, farm eggs have also become expensive and are now being sold at Rs 360 per dozen.

The rising prices of basic food items like chicken and eggs have put severe pressure on the budget of consumers, due to which it has become difficult for the poor and middle class to meet their daily needs.

This situation has also become a cause of concern at the social level.

On the other hand, the business community says that the price increase is due to reduced production, food supply and rising costs in the market.

If this trend continues, the availability of items like chicken and eggs may become more difficult in the future, which is likely to widen the scope of inflation.
