CM Bugti announces Civil award for ‘Hero’ who saved Dr.Mahnoor

QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has announced a civil award for Abdul Razzaq Tarakai, an employee of Civil Hospital Quetta, for his extreme bravery in rescuing a female doctor while risking his own life in a recent acid attack in Quetta.

The said incident took place at the Civil Sandeman hospital, one of the largest public healthcare facilities in Balochistan, in which a postgraduate female doctor, Mahnoor Nasar, suffered grievous injuries after a suspect threw acid at her when she was on duty in the surgical ward of the public hospital.

During this attack, Tarakai rushed towards the doctor to defend and help her. It was in the aftermath that he was himself injured, while in his defense, and is currently under treatment in Quetta.

In his social media post, he praised the brave individual, saying the guard exhibited astounding humanity, devotion, and sacrifice by extending assistance to the injured doctor when she was being subjected to direct personal danger.

The provincial chief went on to say that the guard is an ornament to society, who chose to save the life of another citizen, sacrificing their own life, for which people stand at the apex of the services and moral values.

The provincial government of Balochistan will honor this exceptional guard with a civil award in appreciation of his services to promote the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and commitment to the job.

Also, the people who exhibit such valor and responsibility bring honor and pride to the nation and set an example for the young generation to follow.

On the other hand, Dr. Mahnoor Nasar has been admitted to the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, where her medical evaluation was completed in full detail.

Sources from the hospital said that 13% of the body of the woman has suffered acid burns, which also include the face, chest, abdomen, thighs, and the right hand of the injured woman.

In further proceedings, the main accused in the case, namely, Humayun Shah, was killed in a police encounter near Nushki Bus stop. During a massive search of the entire district, police searched him to verify, and the accused took out a gun and started firing shots at the police force.
