LAHORE: From April onwards, farmers in Punjab will receive free land from the government as part of the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar program, according to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam Nawaz announced that the Punjab government will lease all available agricultural land to farmers for a period of 10 years, according to her statement.
Farmers will get 5 acres of land without any costs for Indian farmers. She explained that farmers will receive both land and financial assistance, which will allow them to begin their farming operations right away.
The project aims to enhance agricultural development through its efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and promote rural economic growth.
On February 4, Maryam Nawaz declared the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar project during her speech at the electric bus launch event in Rajanpur, which will give about 250000 acres to needy people who qualify for assistance.
The government will publish the program details together with instructions on how to apply for it at an upcoming date, according to government officials.
