LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the third phase of the ‘Super Seeder Scheme’ to reduce smog in the province and keep the environment clean.
As per the details, the third phase aims to complete the supply of 2,000 super seeders before wheat sowing in October. “With the use of super seeder, the paddy crop residues are incorporated into the soil,” the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
A toll-free number 0800-17000 has also been set up for further information and guidance of farmers.
Applicants will have to fill the form available on the website.
Applicants will have to submit complete applications, including an undertaking on a Rs 100 stamp paper, confirming that they meet the eligibility criteria for financial assistance.
Applications will be received in the office of the Assistant Agricultural Engineer (Field) or Assistant Director Agricultural Engineering in the concerned district, where a record of the applicants will be maintained.
Farmers also have the option to submit their applications to the office of the Assistant Director Agriculture (Ext.) at the tehsil level.
The farmer has a tractor of at least 65 horsepower.
The individual agrees to provide services to other farmers on a rental basis.
The person has not applied for assistance with machinery and equipment under this scheme in any other district of Punjab.
A farmer will have to procure machinery and equipment from pre-qualified firms within 20 days of receiving the allotment letter. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the financial assistance, which cannot be contested in court, the subsidy will be given to the next eligible farmer on the merit list.
Once approved by the allotment committee, it cannot be challenged in court.
