COAS Asim Munir meets Khalid bin Salman to discuss defence cooperation

RIYADH: Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir held an important meeting with the Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The meeting discussed in detail the defense cooperation between the two brotherly countries and the current security situation in the region.

During the meeting, special discussions were held on the issue of recent attacks by Iran against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was discussed in the context of the existing Joint Strategic Defense Agreement between the two countries.

The two sides emphasized that such actions are detrimental to peace and stability and that there is an urgent need to reduce this tension.

The two leaders expressed the hope that the Iranian leadership will demonstrate wisdom and prudence and avoid decisions that could lead to miscalculations or unnecessary confrontation. The meeting also agreed that diplomatic channels and responsible behavior should be prioritized to maintain peace and stability in the region.

On this occasion, Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili and Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence, were also present.
