Cop injured, terrorist killed in attack on police mobile in Kohat

KOHAT: At least one cop was injured after terrorists attacked a police mobile with hand grenades in the Shadipur area of Kohat, police said on Tuesday.

The regional police officer (RPO) said a terrorist was also killed in retaliation by the police.

Meanwhile, several militants were also arrested and hand grenades and other weapons were discovered.

The police official added that a search operation was underway in the area to find more leads on the terrorists who attacked the police mobile.

In another incident, terrorists opened fire on security forces’ vehicles during a rescue operation in Kurram’s Bagan area, which resulted in the martyrdom of five personnel and injuries to 15 others.

According to the police, security forces were engaged in evacuating stranded vehicles and drivers from an ambush when the attackers struck.

The martyred personnel have been identified as Lance Naik Qabil Khan, Lance Naik Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Yaseen, Sepoy Saqlain, and Sepoy Danish. The injured include Havaldar Azeem, Naik Tauseef, Naik Niaz Muhammad, and Lance Naik Haroon.
