During the hearing of Toshakhana case, Court extends interim bails for Imran and Bushra Bibi.
In the latest development of the Toshakhana case, the Islamabad District and Sessions Court granted an extension to the interim bails of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. The Additional Sessions Judge, Tahir Abbas Sipra, presided over the hearing of six bail pleas, extending Imran Khan’s interim bail until December 19 and Bushra Bibi’s until January 2, 2024.
During the court proceedings, Bushra Bibi, accompanied by her legal team, appeared before the court, while Imran Khan was represented by Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry. Chaudhry informed the court about Imran Khan’s bail being granted by the Anti-Terrorism Court, prompting the judge to inquire about the basis for the bail.
Chaudhry argued that Imran Khan was not present at the scene in question and expressed concern about the intentional absence of his client from the court proceedings. The judge, in response, highlighted the need for Imran Khan’s presence during the proceedings and commented on the established tradition of setting up a court wherever the accused is located.
