LAHORE: The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court approved the post-arrest bail application of Aleema Khan’s son, Sher Shah in the May 9 Jinnah House attack case.

PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s wife Mehreen Qureshi, accused Sher Shah’s lawyers Rana Mudassar and Barrister Taimur appeared in the court.

Anti-terrorism court judge Manzar Ali Gul heard the case. Lawyer Rana Mudassar took the position that the accused has not yet been charged in this case.

It is not known when the trial will start; therefore, the accused cannot be kept in custody indefinitely, and there is no evidence against the accused, as he is not involved in any riot.

Lawyer Rana Mudassar argued that the accused, who had more serious charges than Sher Shah, were granted bail; there is no such allegation against Sher Shah that he had vandalized, and no one else can be implicated just by identifying one accused.

After hearing the arguments, the court reserved the decision on the bail of Sher Shah, the nephew of the founder of PTI.

The court ordered Sher Shah to be released against surety bonds of one lakh.

Earlier, a Lahore anti-terrorism court (ATC) ordered bail for Shahriz Khan, Aleema Khan’s son, in the Jinnah House attack case.

Shahrez Khan, nephew of Imran Khan and son of Aleema Khan, had been arrested on May 9, 2018.

ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill had previously reserved judgment on the post-arrest bail application of Shahriz Khan. The court declared the judgment on Wednesday, approving the bail application and directing Shahriz’s release.
