GHOTKI: In a tragic incident, unidentified gunmen fatally shot Bachal Ghuniyo, a local journalist affiliated with Awaz TV, in Rawanti, Ghotki, Sindh. The assailants escaped the location, leaving behind the lifeless body of the journalist.
According to police, Ghuniyo was in a field near his home when the assailants opened fire, killing him instantly. Later his body was transported to the Ubaro Tehsil Hospital.
Journalists gathered at the Ubaro Tehsil Hospital following the incident. Ghuniyo was known for reporting on criminal activities in the area.
An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the killing, with preliminary indications suggesting a possible connection to an old dispute.
In addition, this incident bears an eerie resemblance to the recent murder of another journalist, Nasrullah Gadani, who was also shot dead in Ghotki.
Gadani succumbed to his injuries in May after being attacked by unidentified armed men near Mirpur Mathelo. The attackers opened fire on Gadani’s vehicle, inflicting serious gunshot wounds, and fled the scene.
Despite receiving medical attention at multiple hospitals, including Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi, Gadani ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
