KARACHI: Armed robbers snatched Rs 5.5 million from an Easypaisa shop owner within the jurisdiction of Quaidabad police station in Karachi on November 25.

CCTV footage of a five-second heist has surfaced online, showing that two armed robbers, wearing helmets to hide their faces, held the shop owner at gunpoint and snatched a cash-filled bag before fleeing on a motorcycle.

According to Quaidabad police, the shop owner, Rashid, said that he had Rs 3.5 million in his pockets and Rs 5.5 million in the bag, which he was on his way to deposit in the bank. The robbers only managed to escape with the bag.

A case has been registered at the Quaidabad police station, and further investigation is underway.

Earlier this month, a trader was robbed of 35 iPhones worth over 6 million rupees near the Water Pump area in Karachi. The trader, Irfan, was traveling from Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan after purchasing the iPhones from the Saddar Mobile Market.

The robbers made off with the iPhones, leaving the trader with significant financial losses. This incident marks the 15th similar case involving traders, raising serious concerns about the safety and security of business owners in the city.
