KARACHI: A private TV anchor‘s residence in Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi, was targeted by thieves, but swift police action led to the arrest of the main suspect, Nabeel, within hours.

The SSP Korangi Tauheed Rahman confirmed that police recovered stolen goods and cash from Nabeel’s possession and registered a case against him. Authorities praised the prompt efforts of law enforcement to resolve the incident efficiently.

In another incident, a watchman courageously thwarted a robbery attempt at a factory in Ahsanabad, Karachi. Four armed robbers tried to force their way in but faced resistance from the factory guard.

The robbers fired at the watchman before fleeing, and police pursued the suspects, capturing one who was injured during the chase. Unfortunately, three robbers escaped.

These cases are increasing as the days pass with Karachi witnessing a disturbing rise in robbery-related deaths, with 108 individuals killed in 2023 while resisting robberies. The breakdown includes: Central (16), City (2), East (30), Keamari (16), Korangi (17), Malir (10), South (1), and West (16).

This alarming trend continues in 2024, with 33 reported deaths until March 28, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures and community awareness.
