CTD arrests wanted terrorist in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) captured terrorists linked with the outlawed Zainabiyun Brigade during an operation on Saturday in Karachi’s Soldier Bazar.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the accused, Syed Muhammad Moosa Rizvi alias Kamran, son of Syed Nafees Abbas Rizvi, was apprehended during a targeted operation. Rizvi had gone into hiding, fearing arrest for his active engagement in terrorist activities.

Investigations have confirmed Rizvi’s participation in many sectarian targeted killings.

From September 5, 2023, to November 13, 2024, he killed 3 people and left three injured in different areas of Karachi.

The accused is a major agent of the Zainabiyun Brigade who has been heavily involved in sectarian violence. He was given regular funds from the group to carry out his actions.

Rizvi has already been named in instances involving terror funding and other terrorist allegations, which are now being investigated by the CTD police station. Further investigations are going on.
