CTD busts major attack in Quetta, neutralizes two militants

QUETTA: During an intense shootout, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed two terrorists hailing from the banned organization in Quetta on Monday, according to media reports.

The intense fire between the law enforcement agency and the militants lasted for an hour in the Darakhshan area of Quetta.

CTD has recovered suicide jackets and arms, and ammunition from the terrorists after the encounter.

According to CTD sources, these militants were planning a heinous attack in the city, which was now busted by the immediate CTD operation.

Earlier this Month, the Counter terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan conducted an operation in the Dukki district, killing at least 5 terrorists involved in attacks on security forces.

The operation was conducted on the information provided by intelligence agencies about the presence of militants from a banned organization operating in Balochistan, according to the CTD Spokesperson.

Firearms and explosives were found at the operational site. A further investigation is ongoing to locate the group’s surviving network and affiliates, according to the official.
