Daring police operation by SHO Sabzi Mandi: Notorious robber killed in encounter

ISLAMABAD: SHO Sabzi Mandi, Fawad Khalid (SI), and his team carried out a brave and successful operation in Sector I-9, where they confronted two armed robbers fleeing after committing a crime.

During the encounter, the police team engaged in an exchange of fire with the suspects. One of the robbers was injured due to his accomplice’s gunfire. He was apprehended and rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.

The police recovered stolen mobile phones and cash taken from the I-9 sector during the robbery. The deceased has been identified as Umair alias “Mehri,” a resident of Ratta Amral, Rawalpindi. He was previously wanted in over 40 serious criminal cases.

The body was later identified by the family of a young man who was killed during a snatching incident in the jurisdiction of Police Station Noon.
