KARACHI: A massive explosion occurred in a sewerage line near the Super Highway in Karachi’s Sabzi Mandi area, sending nearby motorcycles flying into the air like toys. Although no immediate casualties were reported, the blast caused significant damage to vehicles and sparked widespread panic.
The explosion was so intense that one motorcycle was hurled into the air, landing on a parked car and damaging both vehicles.
The blast site was quickly cordoned off by police and bomb disposal squad teams, who collected evidence and determined that the explosion was caused by accumulated gas in the sewerage line.
Police have also acquired the CCTV footage of the bomb blast location.
Fortunately, no human lives were lost in the incident, but the powerful blast serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of gas accumulation in urban infrastructure.
Authorities are likely to investigate the incident further to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
