After the meeting, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qutold the media, the party Core Committee has decided that the PTI would fully participate in Punjab by-elections of the provincial assembly seats, which were vacated by the dissident MPAs as they were disqualified by the ECP.

He also demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ensure free and fair elections in the province, adding that the PML-N, which was in power in Punjab, would use the state machinery to rig the elections.

In this regard, the PTI parliamentary committee would meet on Monday (tomorrow) to finalise the candidates’ names.

Earlier talking to media persons, Sheikh Rasheed said that no option except fresh elections in the country would be discussed with anyone, adding that the elections were the only solution to the problems being confronted by the country.
