DG Sialkot PHA Junaid Bhatti allegedly shoots himself in office

SIALKOT: In a shocking incident, the Director General (DG) of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Sialkot has allegedly shot himself in his office on Wednesday.

The District Police Officer with his team reached the scene swiftly, after which the DG PHA Junaid Taj Bhatti was shifted to the Civil Hospital in a critical condition.

Later, the Forensic and investigation teams reached the scene and started collecting evidence from the crime scene. Junaid Taj Bhatti was posted as Director General of the Punjab Horticulture Authority in Sialkot.

DPO Sialkot Faisal Shahzad said that an investigation is being carried out from all aspects of the incident, and soon facts will be revealed about the DG’s death.

Earlier, at least two policemen were martyred in a blast in Peshawar. According to the SSP Operations, the blast was a suicide blast and took place near the cattle market on the Ring Road.

He added that the police were collecting evidence from the scene.

Rescue teams and ambulances immediately reached the spot. A rescue spokesman confirmed that two people were injured in the incident, and emergency operations are underway.
