5 killed, other severely injured as dumper overturns in Baghbanpura

LAHORE: At least five people were killed and four were seriously injured when a dumper overturned at the Akhri Mint Stop in the Baghbanpura area on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122, the firefighters saved four other passengers, removing them alive from underneath the dumper to take them to the hospital, but they are in critical condition.

Rescue officials stated that the dumper lost control and overturned on two rickshaws and a motorcycle. The impact was severe, as individuals were trapped underneath the vehicle.

Once emergency responders arrived on the scene, they commenced a rescue operation. All people trapped under the dumper were removed and transported to the nearest hospital.

According to officials, all four deceased died on the spot. The rescue team also reported that the dumper has been removed from the site, and a search operation was completed to determine that there were no individuals still trapped under the dumper.

Rescue sources later informed that the identification process was completed. Among the deceased was a ten-year-old girl by the name of Hafiza, and another twelve-year-old girl, Aima. A twenty-four-year-old man also died. According to rescue sources, two people were identified: Dawood and Rafaqat.
