The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that every park in each sector of Islamabad will be transformed as the CDA continues to make public spaces and city infrastructures better.
The plan will see the development of new walking tracks, new lighting systems, new children’s play equipment, and better horticultural features.
While reviewing the condition of civic infrastructure in the federal capital, the Chairman of CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, directed the upgrade of parks in every sector of the city.
The CDA chief stated that it remains a priority to tackle Islamabad‘s traffic congestion and parking problems. The CDA is working on new roads and new underpasses, and parking plazas at developed sites.
Roadways, including the Expressway, Margalla Road, Club Road, Park Road, and Faisal Avenue, will get upgraded with new lane markings, footpath rehabilitation, green belt improvements, and medians beautified.
Randhawa was at the Pakistan Secretariat to enquire about parking arrangements for officers, personnel, and visitors, and met with Member Planning, Member Environment, DG Works, and other senior officials about ongoing works.
Planned work is also focused on the public right-of-way, megaforests, and urban forestry works to reduce water and land pollution in the federal capital.
As part of the city‘s beautification plan, horticulture and landscaping work have been undertaken on several model roads with improved landscaping and horticulture.
Seasonal flowers, decorative planters, and wooden signboards will also be used to beautify the roads. Night–time visibility and safety are also being improved through new, more efficient lighting systems for the newly landscaped roads, which residents appear to value.
Ch Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed CDA teams to ensure permanent and attractive lighting of some major roads, including Club Road, Jinnah Avenue, and the Expressway.
He further stressed that an effective sprinkler system is vital to keep plants alive during dry spells and while maintaining healthy plants. All these activities are part of a broader plan to make Islamabad an ecologically sustainable and tourist-friendly city.
