ISLAMABAD: DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari has said that after the complaints from the citizens of the federal capital, the first duty and responsibility of the policemen, wherever and in whatever position they are performing their duties, is to ensure public safety and property.

He instructed in a video message that all the officers and youths should not do any injustice to the people, nor should you harass or bother them; should not stop the citizens and harass them at any place; should not ask anyone for a marriage certificate; and should not smell the mouths of the citizens.

“This is my clear message; despite this, if any young people harass the public, strict departmental action will be taken against them,” he said.

Our aim is only to protect people’s lives and property and to fight crime, and we should not focus on anything unnecessary.

On the other hand, DIG Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari, while taking an important step for the citizens of Islamabad, is inappropriate and unprofessional. A WhatsApp complaint service has been launched for complaints of professional police behavior.

He said further in a video message, “In case of complaints of Islamabad police mobile patrolling, eagle squad and officers at checkpoints, misbehavior, asking for marriage certificates, harassment on the pretext of checking unnecessary documents, and asking for bribes, citizens should submit their complaint with the details of their complaint. Photos and locations of police officers and employees can be sent to DIG Operations Islamabad, Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari, on WhatsApp number 03300260022”.

DIG Operation Islamabad said citizens can send complaints of bribery at police stations and checkpoints to this number only. Register your complaint on 1715 for redressal of other police-related or investigation-related complaints.
