DPO transferred after alleged dispute with MPA’s son in Hafizabad
HAFIZABAD: An unusual controversy has emerged in Hafizabad following the transfer of District Police Officer (DPO) Kamran Hamid, allegedly after a dispute involving the son of a ruling party lawmaker.
According to reports circulating on social media, PML-N Member of the Punjab Assembly Shahid Hussain Bhatti, along with his son Haider Bhatti and others, visited the DPO Office in Hafizabad a few days ago. During the visit, when the DPO was reportedly not present in his office, Haider Bhatti allegedly used the washroom located in the DPO’s private office.
As per reports from journalist Muhammad Umair on X ( formerly Twitter), who claims that when Haider Bhatti came out of the washroom, he encountered DPO Kamran Hamid, leading to a verbal exchange. It is alleged that the DPO told him to “Get Lost,” triggering a political controversy.
Reports suggest that the incident was followed by intense political lobbying, and DPO Kamran Hamid was subsequently transferred and posted to Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
Following the transfer, Haider Bhatti reportedly shared a Facebook post stating, “Now You Get Lost,” which quickly attracted public attention.
Meanwhile, an audio clip allegedly featuring former MPA Mamoon Jafar Tarar has also gone viral, in which he discusses the washroom-related incident.
Authorities have not officially linked the DPO’s transfer to the reported dispute, and no formal statement has yet been issued regarding the allegations.
