ISLAMABAD: An earthquake jolted Islamabad and several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Punjab on Saturday afternoon.
According to the initial details, the tremors were felt in several areas across northern Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir.
The jolts were also experienced in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, and other cities in northern Punjab.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the earthquake was felt in Peshawar, Mardan, Haripur, Mohmand, Abbottabad, Swat, Malakand, and surrounding areas.
As per PMD’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the epicenter of the 5.5 magnitude earthquake was situated 60 kilometers northwest of Rawalpindi, with a depth of 12 kilometers.
No early reports of injuries or damage were reported from any of the impacted areas.
