ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed members of parliament and provincial assemblies to submit their asset declarations by January 15.

Failure to submit the declarations by the due date will result in the suspension of the membership of the member concerned.

According to the Election Commission, this step is necessary to promote transparency and accountability so that details of the assets of the members of the assembly are provided on time.

In this regard, committees and relevant departments have also been directed to ensure the process of submitting the declarations.
