LAHORE: Eidul Adha, one of the major holidays in Islam, will likely occur on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Pakistan, based on early predictions.

The officials date will be after the RueteHilal procedure, when the Pakistan moon sighting committee will announce the official day. Eidul Adha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to the command of God.

Periodically, Muslims will take part in a ritual called Qurbani, where animals such as cows, goats, sheep, or camels will be slaughtered according to the guidelines of Islam.

The meat is distributed amongst family members, relatives, and those in need, honoring the spirit of sharing and generosity. Eidul Adha means Muslims will dress up in new clothes, visit friends and family, hold feasts with meat, and give money as charity to the poor.

The dates may be different from one country to another based on how the moon can be seen geographically because of the different time zones and moon viewing periods.

For example, in the UAE, Eidul Adha is on June 6, 2025, based on astronomical predictions. Either way, Eidul Adha is a celebration of faith, generosity, and community.
