ISLAMABAD: As the holy month of Ramadan progresses, excitement builds up for the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, being one of the major Islamic festivals.
Eidul Fitr is expected to fall on March 31, 2025, with the Shawwal moon likely to be sighted in most parts of the country on Sunday, March 30, according to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council.
According to Ruet members, by the evening of March 30, the Shawwal crescent will be 26 hours 43 minutes old, and this age is within the bounds of visibility.
A week-long Eidul Fitr holiday is expected this year, covering the first three days from Monday-Wednesday and then the weekend. Citizens continue to hope for a long festive break; some wish for it to last from March 29 up to April 2 for a total of five days of rest.
Added holidays may last from March 29 up to April 6, arriving at a total of nine days off. The final announcement about the holidays for Eid will be made later after the official moon sighting declaration.
